It’s the simple and different things that matter.
We prefer this site to book our hotels. It is reliable, with trusted reviews and has most of the needed information about a property. The reviews are of great help.
Our city wise stay:
Cinnamon Citadel ($$) – Cinnamon is one of the best local hotel chains of Sri Lanka. Cinnamon Citadel is situated on the banks of the Mahaweli Ganga river and around 20-min. drive from the Sacred Tooth Temple. The rooms were spacious with great hospitality. Unexpectedly, the buffet spreads had ‘Jain’ variants too.
Luxe Wilderness ($$) – This property has only 3 villas, conveniently separated from each other. Each of these villas are two storey, with a private entrance. Located very close to the town of Nuwara Eliya, the balcony of the villa provides a majestic view of the town and the highest peak of Sri Lanka, Mount Pedro.
Yala National Park
Jetwing Yala ($$$) – Another popular Sri Lankan chain of hotels with luxurious properties around the island. Yala has two Jetwing properties, we decided for this because its next to the beach and wanted a more relaxed stay. The property is huge and the Spa is amazing! Also, you may spot elephants in or around the property.
Maison D’ Hotes Sanda Beach ($) – Convenience lead us here. The famous Coconut Tree hill is just 2-min walk from this bnb. The family run bnb had neat and decent rooms, great for our 1-night stay.
The hotel does not seem to have its own website. You may refer to the pictures and reviews here.
Aditya Boutique Resort ($$$$) – Our top favorite. For our last destination of the trip, we decided to splurge a bit. A villa resort which left us wanting for more of its tropical luxury. The suites are chic and designed to give you majestic views of the Sea. The open spaces, delicious food and the warm hospitality of the staff made this property to one of our favorite stays ever.
